Thinking that an old woman has transformed her into a human, Chao scrubs the floor in thanks, while singing her silly "I'm a cat" song. Unico, who is the one that actually transformed her, is thrilled to see his friend so happy, and prances along as she sings.
This cel is so cute! Unico has such a great pose and smile. He doesn't often look so happy in the series due to his unfortunate life, so seeing such a nice, full-body cel pop of him pop up got me very excited. He ended up selling for a lot less than I expected as well, which made it extra nice.
There is a douga, but it's pretty heavily damaged. The sequence number and punch holes are missing/cut off, and old tape residue remains where it was once attached. The douga paper is very yellowed and stained with flecks of brown... who knows what from. The back of the douga also has Unico's mouth drawn on it... reused, perhaps?
Either way, the cel itself is so cute it's worth it. Having the douga at all is a nice bonus. I'm hopeful that someday I can find a cel of Chao from this sequence and recombine them again.
Background is unrelated, but I thought putting Unico against a bright grass field would be nice.
