The Fourth Doctor

This is the fourth Doctor from the long running British sci-fi Doctor Who. He's a Time Lord and can regenerate himself when he dies for up to twelve times. In the past he's been played by a number of different actors. Between 1974 ans 1980 the Doctor was played by Tom Baker, and that was the Fourth incarnation. I decided to cosplay him, and this costume is from series 18, in 1980, his last year.

The Doctor
Yay for the Fourth Doctor! I've really gotten into Doctor Who over the past few months and decided to do a Doctor Who costume. Four is my second favorite Doctor, and I think I can pull him off relatively well. I dyed my hair lighter brown for this, but probably should have redyed it closer to the con, as it looks rather blond in several of these photos. :/ Anyway. I comissioned the outfit off a seller on eBay, and the scarf from someone else, and was less than pleased with some of the results. I've digitally editted the photos so the scarf looks less neon than what I actually recieved. I thought about a wig, not sure if I could pull of Baker's signature curls, but I think it came out all right. I was lucky there was enough time between Anime Expo and Ani-Magic to grow my hair out for the role, hahaha.

All in all, it was a fun costume. I'd like to do it again sometime, perhaps with darker hair and a better scarf. :) I may wear this again, but not until I get a better scarf. I'd like his hat someday, too. I wore a pair of 6 3/4" platform boots, to try to emulate Tom Baker's impressive 6'4" status, but although it gives me the height, I half feel like it makes me look ridiculous. I'm not sure I'll wear them again with the costume--but being a 5'7" Fourth Doctor seems ridiculous too. Anyway---it's a pretty comfortable costume, and I do love me some Fourth Doctor. :) Now, if only I had a Romana and an Adric.
