Laguna Loire
Laguna is the mysterious man-from-the past in the famous Squaresoft video game,
Final Fantasty VIII. He's a lot of fun, being both dashingly attractive, incredibly
dorky, and somehow a journalist and fighter at heart. He was quite fun to portray,
even if the costume didn't exactly fit right. ^_^;
Here is me, Van Donovan, as Laguna Loire! =D This costume I can't take an ounce of
credit for though. It was entirely made by Makkura, of iPlay, and worn by her to Fanimecon
'01, so I'd have something of a partner there as Irvine. Consequently, I really loved her
costume, and decided to steal it from her another weekend long after the con, so I could strut
my stuff in it. So, here you see me inmy own backyard, with pictures graciously taken by
her. ^_^; My hair, obviously, is too long, too wavy and the wrong colour, but it's a decent
enough job for a little semi-cosplay. Makkura is quite differently shaped than I am, [well
for starters I'm 5'7" and she's um, 5'2", I think] so parts of the costume were really big,
or really small. LOL But everything looks in place in the pictures, more or less. The
pants were a nice brown fabric, and the jacket was a really impressive mixture of pleathers.
She even lined the jacket! I was totally impressed. The belt was the one thing that was
sort of falling apart, but it was pinned back in the pictures, and worked well. The lemon,
uh . . . is just a lemon. @_@ And, the boots are my Folken boots, since she wears size
7 in ladies, and . . . well that's just way too small. XD Enjoy!
