Malcolm Reed
This is Malcolm Reed, the Lieutenant Armory Officer from theUPN show Star Trek: Enterprise. In 2002 I was very much into the show and the character. I had planned to wear this to a Stark Trek convention in Las Vegas in August 2002. However, the comissoned costume (made by Heidi & Chole Bradga) didn't arrive in time, and was too ill-fitting to wear. Eventually I grew out of the series (a little) and did not attend anymore convetions appropirate to wear it too. Now there are "official" uniforms released and I'd feel goofy wearing this there anyway. But it rotted in my closet so I thought I ought to at least take a few pictures of me in it.
This is Malcolm Reed from Star Trek: Enterprise. I had really hoped to wear this to a Star Trek convention in 2002 but it never happened. I even had my hair cut like his and everything. The costume was comissioned by Chole and Heidi Bradga and didn't arrive in time because it had to be remade due to it fitting ill. It's very unfortunate, because I put a lot of work into making sure the costume was accurate -- lots of screengrabs and sketches. They did a really admirable job of recreating the costume too. All the pockets work with real zippers, the fabric is sturdy and strong and it is lined. I bought the patch at a store online that sold Enterprise patches. I am wearing his rank too, although it isn't visible in any of the pictures. I made it from FIMO. I also bought a black mandarin collar tuxedo shirt to wear beneath it, as well as the blue skivves that all the Enterprise personal are issued (and I'm wearing them in the pictures, but you can't see them! Hahaha, talk about detail, eh?). The boots are my Sailorjupiter boots turned Youji Kudou boots turned Malcolm Reed boots. :D Anyway, I finally got some pictures of me in it (only had to wait until the summer of 2004 for that). I will likely not ever wear this costume to a convention or anything, although it did make an extremely short apperance at NDK 2002.
