As to costume construction, most of the items were purchased and modified. I bought the frock coat off eBay, after much searching for one that would fit, wasn't terribly expensive and was properly "worn." This one in question is over 100 years old. I had to add a breast pocket and front hip pockets, and while the fabric doesn't entirely match, it works very well, and looks quite similar to Troughton's, which was also vintage with added pockets. XD The bowtie is vintage from the 1950s, and the trousers are vintage to the 1970s. The trousers are noticably too small for me (and rather painful to wear for extended periods of time), and that was after I added a back flap panel to expand them. Alas, I could not find the right size houndstooth print in my size. I hope to eventually lose a bit of weight so they fit better, but I am still on the lookout for trousers that would fit better. The shirt is just a white dress shirt, and the handkerchief is actually a square of fabric cut from a Russian lapthrow--I couldn't find anything else with a red paisley pattern I liked as much. My sonic screwdriver is actually a vintage tire gague, but I think it works very nicely. I painted the recorder based off color photos from "Power of the Daleks" and I think it's a very close match.
