Ron Weasley

I fell in love with Ron's ugly Yule Ball costume as soon as the first high-quality pictures of them came out for the Goblet of Fire movie. I decided then and there that I had to have his robes for the movie premiere. I made the costume entirely myself, sans the pants, which were store bought, and the white undershirt, which was highly modified. I am very proud of it. :) Hopefully I'll get better pictures of me in it later.

This costume was fantastically difficult to make, but a lot of fun. I bought upholstery fabric for the main coat, and dyed it black (or as dark as I could get it). I patterned the coat off my Harry school uniform robes, and it worked out nicely. I hand dyed all the antique crotcheted lace maroon, and handstiched it all on. I tea stain dyed the ivory lace and shirt, and added it on. I replaced the collar on the shirt to be big, like his. I made the vest out of two types of fabric--one being the tweed fronting, the other being a red and green print, that I used on the pockets and back. I used the backside of alabaster buttons on the best. There is also black ribbon accent trim, and a clasp in the back. After the movie came out, I found out that I did the back of the coat a little inaccurately (my collar scoops and his points) but it's close enough. :) Dyed my hair red and had a blast.

Wasn't entirely happy with the photos from the movie premiere, so in April, I had my friend Melissa come out and take a photoshoot, too. I redyed my hair for it and everything. So, that's where the other photos are from. They're a bit better, though I wish I'd realized my collar lapel wasn't showing on one side. :/
