I really never dreamed I'd have such a big, beautiful close up shot of Cheri. I've been collecting Unico for over twenty years now, and cels from the Island of Magic used to be so rare and hard to come by. They're still far rarer than other the Fantastic Adventures movie, but they crop up much more often and as a collector, I am very grateful.
This cel comes mid-way through the movie, when Cheri is in the desert and starting her trek to the ends of the Earth. She believes she has to go alone, and leaves Unico behind so he doesn't waste his life following her. It is this act of selflessness that makes Unico realize how much Cheri loves him, and allows him to transform into his adult form and help her complete her goal.
I just love this cel! I love the sparkle in her eyes, and the way the wind blows through her hair. I love the relationship Cheri has with Unico, and with her brother. I love the emotion here.
