This adorable shot of Unico comes from fairly early-on in the film. After accidentally causing the Demon of Solitude to destroy himself, Unico hears some crying and goes in investigate. What he finds is a tiny little demon child, crying because his daddy smashed himself to bits. When Unico approaches, the demon runs and hides in a fallen column.
Here, Unico approaches the column which is spraying out tears. It's a sad, cute moment right before these two iconic characters meet for the first time and (eventually) become good
friends.
This was another lucky YahooJapan auction win for me. I was not challenged on this cel, so I got it for much less than expected, considering Unico cels seem to be going for about ¥15,000 yen. I was happy to get this one for considerably less than that.
The cel also came with a slightly-damaged douga. If I had to guess, the cel was stuck to the douga at some point and took some damage when it was removed. No background, unfortunately. I've paired it with a dark, unmatching BG.
